Happy New Year from all of us at Ogario London! We hope you saw in 2019 in style. Inevitably, talk at this time of year turns to New Year resolutions. So what better way to revive hair after the party season than to kick off with some new hair resolutions?
Looking for inspiration? We recommend some good hair habits to get you started and revive hair.
Choose the Right Products for your Hair Type
Start with making sure you are using the right products for your hair type, to tackle any issues and maximise the condition of your hair. It may sound obvious but getting it right is not always as easy as it sounds. With so many products on the shelves, it’s easy to get confused. We like to keep it simple.
We have Revive and Shine Shampoo and Conditioner for all hair types. This shampoo and conditioner duo is a great pick-me-up for hair that’s feeling a bit flat after all the party styling. It adds volume and body to hair, leaves it feeling super-clean easier to style.
Our Hydrate and Shine Shampoo and Conditioner duo is for those with hair in need of some extra hydration. If your hair is naturally dry, if you have thick or coarse hair or if you have colour-treated hair this shampoo and conditioner will give your hair the moisture that it needs.
Rinse your Hair Well
When washing or conditioning, ensure you rinse all traces of shampoo or conditioner out of your hair. Leaving product in the hair can make it look dull and the excess product will attract dirt and increase build-up.
Our shampoos and conditioners rinse easily from the hair. If you ever find you have residue after rinsing, it may be that you’ve used too much product. We recommend using around half of the amount that you would use with other products. Our shampoos and conditioners are concentrated so you don’t need much.
Deep Condition every Week
Make deep conditioning a part of your weekly beauty routine. Its the cornerstone of getting your hair into great condition and a fast track to sleek, super-shiny locks. Leave deep conditioners on for longer than a conditioner to revive hair. Make sure you give it at least 10 minutes to work its magic, or longer if possible. Hair needs to be fed with nourishing ingredients to keep it looking great. With a routine of weekly deep conditioning treatments, your hair will look and feel healthier.
Detox your Haircare Tool Kit
Hairstyling doesn’t have to be about heavy hairsprays, gels or mousses that coat hair, leaving it weighed down. There’s a new generation of innovative styling products that treat the hair as you style. January is the perfect time to detox your hair care kit and rid yourself of products that are heavy or drying for the hair.
The Ogario London styling range has lots of hair strengthening ingredients such as Honey, Sugar Beet, Argan Oil and Keratin. These hard-working products give control and finish. But they also revive the hair, leaving it feeling stronger and healthier.
Turn Down the Heat
Heated hair appliances take their toll on your hair, causing weak, brittle hair and split ends. The truth is that most of us over-dry our hair. So this January we challenge you to take a different approach to drying your hair. By reducing the level of heat and the amount of time spent using the hairdryer you can actually get better styling results and benefit your hair and scalp at the same time. It’s a win-win.
Reduce Drying Time
Start by timing how long you usually spend drying your hair. Make a note of it and then reduce that by a minute each time you dry your hair. Take note of how your hair feels and how well the style holds during the day. We reckon most people can reduce their drying time by an average of 2-3 minutes. Over-drying the hair can cause hair to be fly-away and static so if you can reduce your time under the hairdryer you’ll find that you get a better finish on the hair.
Short Blasts of Heat
Another technique is to apply short blasts of heat with your hairdryer and let the hair cool. This technique is great when you are using a brush. Take a section of hair, place the brush at the end of the hair, roll down to roots. Blast the area with the hairdryer for a few seconds, leave to cool and gently remove the brush. If your hair is feeling a bit flat this is a great way of reviving it and giving your hair body. You can simply target the heat at the roots.
Air-dry once a week
We know this can be a challenge in the cold month of January but if you are indoors, leaving your hair to air-dry once a week is a great way of giving your hair a break.
Get a little Help
