Hair Hack: Get Rid of Dry Ends this Summer

You don’t have to put up with dry ends and hair that’s difficult to style this summer. If the elements are playing havoc with your lovely locks then its time to take some action.

Follow our simple tips to hydrate your hair, rescue dry ends and improve manageability

Keep Heated Styling to a Minimum

It’s hard to break free of the hair-dryer but summer is the perfect time to let go of some old habits. Try letting your hair air-dry for a change. For shorter and mid-length lengths, go for a more relaxed tousled look. You can use styling products to give you a better finish. And if you can’t let go of the hair-dryer, put the setting on cool and reduce drying time.  For longer locks, you can plait the hair whilst damp to give you a beachy finish.

Use a Micro-Fibre Towel to Dry your Hair

Micro-fibre towels create less friction and therefore less breakage when hair is wet and at it’s most vulnerable. Remember, squeeze out the water when you dry and don’t rub. Treat your hair like a delicate fabric.

Check your Ingredients

Take a look at your styling products. If you see alcohol denat on the ingredients list then use it sparingly. Alcohol denat can be drying for hair so less is definitely more. If you are using a spray, try spraying above the head (rather than directly on the hair) and let it fall gently on the hair. This is a very simple way of making sure you don’t overload the hair.

Choose Styling Products to Enhance the Condition of your Hair.

Do you want your hair to have a natural finish? Do you want to have control and hold but still have movement in the hair? If the answer to those questions is yes, you might want to take a look at our styling range. When we set ourselves the challenge of developing a stying range, we were really clear that not only did the products have a job to do in giving hold and control, they must also improve the condition of the hair. They contain Keratin and Argan Oil to treat split ends and condition hair as you style. If you’d like to know more about our styling range and how they can help improve the condition of your hair, you can find out more here.

And Finally…

The go-to product for hydrating hair. The intensive conditioner, otherwise known as a hair mask. If you are not a regular user of a hair mask, you might wonder why you need one. Check out our blog on Hair Masques to find out more about reducing dry ends.
